However, banks there no longer offer foreign exchange. In Larger towns of Algarve, At bureaux you will find the best rates and commissions normally. You may find worst exchange rates at airports and hotesl , so no recommended there until you have a must situation to exchange money. Its good to keep an eye out while doing the shopping and check for commission rates. At the change shops even you’ll not  find much variation as they are owned be the same company. The Cambios (Bureaux de Change or Change Shops) are open daily in the main tourism spots.
You may require your passport to exachange cash but you’ll require it for travellers cheques.Virtually it is now impossible to find anywhere that will change travellers cheques. Even if you try to find out the best beaches on google or look for images – you will find this beach images will be popping up everywhere because of its popularity and the views offered by this beach. The coastal/cliff path is very scenic and about 10 mins walk from Lagos. During Peak seasons be aware its hard to find parking here so plan accordingly. There is a nice cafe at the park too. You can visit most of the grotto’s in Ponta da Piedade by boat. Generally beaches have sand all around but this beach is different completely surround by huge cliffs and you’ll get to explore some caves as well. So not sure its good to say its completely a beach or but sure a popular destination in Lagos. Most of the guests prefers to book their holiday rentals accommodation near by it. You can also explore it via Kayak, its an adventurous destination to visit for sure.

Praia Do Camilo : This is next to Ponta de Piedade, again one of the crowded beaches too so parking is a constraint here too and you need to take a staircase to reach down to the beach. Obviously taking a staircase a tiring job for the guests but surely it gives you an immense pleasure when you look at the view while stepping down and takes away all the tiredness even charges you with excitement to reach at the bottom to have more fun. You’ll find quality restaurants there good food specially the sea food. From the top you’ll find rocks floating at the shore , small caves to explore around – good place for kids to enjoy and having a good time with your family. The water is as calm as it gets, and you can swim round or walk through a natural tunnel to a neighboring cove. If you have not planned or booked your holiday rental for your next trip then must visit Lagos to experience these mesmerizing locations.

Meia Praia : This beach is not like the above two but with a huge shore . You’ll not feel that crowded here as its quite open and huge unlike Ponta da Piedade. You’ll find good restaurants and bars near by. You can easily find affordable rental accommodations near by this place however budget varies on your choice either its a luxury holiday rental villa or a holiday rentals apartment but still you can crack good holiday rentals deal here. Water here is a bit cold and the currents are little stronger in this beach but still preferable for Kids and families and here no problem for parking too. Its ideal for long walks on the beach.

Praia de Dona Ana: Its the one closest to the old center of Lagos – one of the best areas to explore around Lagos. Nice beach, sand and caves to explore. If the water is too sudden deep with loose sand, which pulls you deeper in the water, just wait for the afternoon around 4p.m and you will be able to walk to the distances where you had to swim to during the earlier times of the day. The water level gets lower and lower, making things much better. Besides, there are some small facilities like beach bars. HOW TO EXPLORE VILA REAL DE SANTO ANTÓNIO

HOW TO EXPLORE VILA REAL DE SANTO ANTÓNIO

An area worth exploring

Ok its not the most popular Algarve holiday rental destination.  Booking a holiday in a Algarve Villa type property in nearby Tavira would be more popular.  Never the less Vila Real de Santo Antonio is a stunning holiday location.  It is located on the Rio Guadiana; which is the river that divides Algarve from Spain.  If you stand on the far eastern edge of Vila Real on the side of the street you can easily see the Spanish coastline and the bridge that connects the town to Spain.

Gold in Eastern Algarve

Charming place

Vila real is a relaxing and very peaceful town and it’s ideal for everyone who like the quiet side of life, or have a different holiday away from home. The place is charming with a lot to see and do.  Especially those who like learning about the local culture.  It is also ideal for taking walks and cycling since the area is flat.

Sandy Beaches

Vila Real has a gorgeous open sandy beach, which stretches for several kilometers.  There is a narrow road that is used to access the beach. There is plenty of parking if you decide to drive to the beach.

Lots to explore

There are lots of places to explore around Vila Real but one to make top of your agenda is Cacela Velha. It is a very small village with a handful of typically Algarvean whitewashed houses around a Church and a fort situated on the waterfront just past Manta Rota.  There isn’t a lot to do there it has to be said, but the village and the views are truly delightful. There are a couple of restaurants if you want to linger for a while – the one on the right just as you come into the village has an upstairs terrace giving great panoramic views across the beaches of Manta Rota and Monte Gordo to Vila Real all set against a backdrop of lush green countryside. About the only sounds ‘disturbing’ the total peace and quiet are from the birds and a few chickens!

Booking a holiday in one of stunning villas in Algarve is always a good choice.   Booking one near Vila Real is an excellent choice.  Nearby Tavira apartments are always in demand.   As are the wonderful East Algarve Golf courses.

The pretty Spanish town of Ayamonte, on the opposite bank of the Guadiana is fun to visit for a tapas lunch and maybe a spot of shopping! To save driving, a ferry regularly crosses between the two towns – the journey takes around 15 minutes. Just remember that Spain is an hour ahead of Portugal!

This is a great place to explore with family too as there are Ayamonte holiday apartments and Spanish villas situated close by most of the exciting places that you intend to visit.  This makes movement easier and with ease.

The Major regions of wine in Spain are in the northern part of the country the Rioja and Ribera Del Duero.  The latter you ll find will be associated with Portuguese wine  as the valley of the Douro river produces great wines in both regions.   Neither areas in Spain are renowned for their tourist numbers.  Though its possible to book online line  splendid villas in Spain from where you can visit these areas.  Of course goes without saying you ll get to taste wonderful Spanish wine.  Later on in the article we will suggest places locate and enjoy a wine tour holiday.

Spain has many brands of fine wine. Needless to say Spain has much more to offer in than just wines.   But wine is so much part of the local cultural its worth while to take a brief look and some research.   We find our guest include wine discovery and taste as one of the benefits of a holiday rental in Spain.   Apart for the magnificent taste great value can be had in supermarkets that stock superb wines.

This wine region is a small area in the south west of Spain, South of the great city of Barcelona.    It is now one of world’s newer regions for bold red wine.  In this region you will find amazing rich in taste red wines made from Garnacha and Carigan which are two of Spain’s native varieties.
